There is no Beauty in the Finest Cloth...

There is no Beauty in the Finest Cloth...

The intention is not to lay a guilt-trip but simply to point in the direction of developing a whole-picture approach to making choices - when a true choice is present.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I am not talking about comparing apples to oranges - for example needing to choose between a simple boxy cut from linen made in your local town and a flattering detailed dress you love for a fraction of the price, made in China. Do you go for the boxy ethical buy that you don’t love - just because you'll feel better about yourself on some moral high ground? Of course not. That's not a fair choice. That's the problem.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As a woman, what I LOVE to wear is often difficult to find from conscious brands - it's why I started making clothes in the first place, but now from the designer side I understand why those choices are so limited.  For small local ethical eco-brands, labour is often too expensive for many unique styles, and in some case, the right machines are simply not available for certain finishing techniques in low minimums (which is what we want, to create less surplus, etc.). In my search for a perfect sewing partner, I've had several contractors turn me down because my patterns are too complicated and I've heard consistently this: ''You need to go to China."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But I don't want to go to China. And I don't want just boxy basics or only organic leggings.  I want to provide women with gorgeous styles that celebrate their beautiful feminine bodies with grace, elegance, artistry and beauty. And, I want to do this while feeding the happy hands that are helping to make them. Like this everyone wins. Win win. I want to believe in a world where THAT is possible. Raise your hand if you want this too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
